Tintale turns a photo you choose into an illustrated keepsake. This policy describes exactly what
happens to that photo and to the small amount of information we hold about your account.
before anything is sent, and nothing is sent until you agree.
Your photo. When you make a keepsake, the app prepares a resized copy of the single photo you
selected and uploads it to our server. Location data (GPS), camera details and other metadata are
stripped before upload. We never accept a link to a photo hosted elsewhere, and we never read your
photo library beyond the item you pick.
Your account. By default your account is anonymous: it is an identifier on your device with no
name or email attached. If you choose to add an email address so you can use the app on more than
one phone, we store that address. We do not ask for your real name, birthday, phone number or
address.
Your keepsakes. The artwork we make for you, any caption or place you type onto a card, the
collections you organise them into, and the postage-stamp designs derived from your own artwork.
Your credits and purchases. A record of credits granted, reserved and spent, and of purchases
made through Apple or Google. We never see or store your card details; payment is handled entirely
by the app store.
Diagnostics. Server logs that record that a request happened, whether it succeeded, and how
long it took. These never contain your photos, your captions, your location or the links to your
artwork.
To make a keepsake, we send the prepared copy of your photo, together with a written description of
the art style, to one AI image provider. The providers we use are Google (Gemini) and Black Forest
Labs (FLUX). The consent screen names the exact provider before you spend anything, and no photo is
sent until you tap through it.
Two things never reach the provider: any words you type onto a card, and any information about you.
Captions, places and dates are drawn onto the finished card by our own software after the artwork
comes back, and the instruction we send the provider is checked by code to make sure it contains
none of your text.
The copy of your photo that we upload is deleted automatically within 24 hours. If you choose a
layout that shows your original photo next to the illustration, we keep a copy of that photo with
that specific keepsake, because the card cannot be redrawn without it — this is a separate choice
you make explicitly, and deleting the keepsake deletes the copy.
Providers keep their own copies for their own limited periods under their own policies, which we
link from the consent screen. We cannot delete those on your behalf.
Our servers and database are hosted with DigitalOcean, and your artwork is stored in DigitalOcean
Spaces. Files are private: the app can only reach them through links that expire, and every file
belongs to exactly one account. Your session is held in your phone's secure keychain.

other apps or websites.
